Definition:
Silica Lightweight Refractories Material is also known as silica insulation brick. Lightweight refractories with silica above 91% and bulk density below 1.2g/cm3. The refractoriness and load softening temperature are not much different from ordinary silicon bricks with the same composition.
However, due to the large number of pores, the compressive strength, slag resistance, and corrosion resistance are not as good as others silicon bricks, but the thermal shock resistance has been improved.
Using finely divided silica as raw material, the critical particle size is usually not more than 1mm, and the particles less than 0.5mm are not less than 90%.
Silica Lightweight Refractories Material is mainly used in various parts of the kiln that require heat insulation or reduce its own weight without direct contact with the melt, without the action of aggressive gases, or with sudden temperature changes. When used at high temperature, it must not be in contact with alkaline refractories. According to different materials, the maximum service temperature is 1200～1550℃.

(4) Impermeability: The pore structure of this product makes the capillary action poor, and the water absorption and moisture conduction are slow. The time required for the same volume of water absorption to saturation is 5 times that of clay bricks.
(5) Environmental protection: no pollution during manufacturing, transportation and use, protect cultivated land, save energy and reduce consumption, and belong to green environmental protection building materials.
(6) Silica Lightweight Refractories Material is also a light-weight heat-insulating brick. It has a higher heat resistance temperature than light-weight clay bricks. It can be used in heat-insulating parts to reduce heat loss and increase the efficiency of the melting process.
Application:
Silica Lightweight Refractories Material are also used in the partition walls of the carbonization and combustion chambers of coke ovens, the regenerators and slag chambers of open hearth furnaces, soaking furnaces, glass melting furnaces, refractory materials and ceramic firing kilns. There are also vaults and other load-bearing parts for kilns. It is also used for the high-temperature load-bearing part of hot blast stove and the top of acidic open hearth furnace.
