Definition:

    Low Creep High Alumina Refractory Bricks is a kind of refractory material. The main component of this refractory brick is Al2O3.


    Due to different resources, national standards are not completely consistent. For example, European countries stipulate that the lower limit of Al2O3 content for high aluminum refractory is 42%.


    In China, the Al2O3 content in high-alumina bricks is usually divided into three grades: Ⅰ etc.-Al2O3 content> 75%; Ⅱ etc.-Al2O3 content is 60 ~ 75%; III etc.-Al2O3 content is 48 ~ 60%.

 

     Low Creep High Alumina Refractory Bricks is a neutral refractory with alumina content above 48%.

    

     Low Creep High Alumina Refractory Bricks can be divided into three process: Raw material, molding, burning.Generally, refractory brick was molded by dry pressing. By means of mixing the material uniformity in proportion and aging mixture some time. Then, pour some powders into the module and dry pressing. After dry pressing, the adobe need to pushed in the drying kiln to stoving or stay in the air to drying. This progress will need about 3-5 days. After this progress, then push the adobe into the tunnel furnace or shuttle kiln to burning around 1300C. This progress will be need about 5-7 days.
After burning, the brick will be packed in pallet and leave the factory.


   

Advantage:

 

    (1) Refractoriness:

    The refractoriness of high-alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks and semi-silicon bricks, reaching 1750-1790℃, which belongs to advanced refractory materials. 

 

    (2) Load softening temperature:

    Because of high Al2O3 in high-aluminum products, less impurities, and less fusible glass body, the load softening temperature is higher than clay bricks, but the mullite crystal does not form a network structure, so the load softens The temperature is still not as high as silicon brick.

 

    (3) Thermal conductivity:

    High aluminum brick has better thermal conductivity than clay brick

 

    (4) Thermal shock resistance:

    The thermal shock resistance of high alumina bricks is between clay products and silica products

 

Application:

    

    Low Creep High Alumina Refractory Bricks that mainly used for lining blast furnaces, hot blast stoves, electric furnace tops, blast furnaces, reverberatory furnaces, rotary kilns. In addition, high-alumina bricks are also widely used as open-hearth regenerative lattice bricks, plugs for pouring systems, nozzle bricks, etc.

 

    However, the price of high alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks, so it is not necessary to use high alumina bricks where clay bricks can meet the requirements.
