Introduction:

Chromium trioxide and aluminum oxide can form high melting point compounds or eutectics with higher melting temperature with various oxides. For example, the melting temperature of the eutectic formed by chromium trioxide and silicon dioxide is as high as 1720℃.
Chromium trioxide and iron oxide can generate iron chromium spinel with melting point up to 2100℃, chromium trioxide and trioxide. Dialuminium can form a solid solution of aluminum and chromium; chromium trioxide and copper monoxide can form compounds with a melting point above 1600°C.
In addition, the viscosity of the slag can be greatly increased. Therefore, adding chromium trioxide to the refractory material can improve the slag resistance of the refractory material and reduce the structural spalling of the material to a certain extent
